This is what we are currently involved with:

HB5826 File No. 627  An Act Concerning School Learning Environment amends PA 07-66 and will take effect on January, 2009.  An in-school suspension may be served in the school that the pupil attends, or in any school building under the jurisdiction of the local or regional board of education as determined such board.  This bill deals with In-School Suspensions and gives more definition to bullying in the schools.  Passed through the house and senate and awaits the governors signature.

SB681  An Act Establishing a Minority Health Advisory Commission.  This was a recommendation from the the "Report on the Status of African Americans in Connecticut"  This passed through both the house and senate and awaits the governors signature.

PA 08- 49 SB604  An Act Concerning Hate Crimes - is now a felony crime.  "any person who places a noose or a simulation thereof of any public property, or on any private property without written consent of the owner, and with the intent to intimidate or harass any other person on account of religion, national origin, alienage, color, race, sex, sexual orientation, blindness or physical disability, shall be in violation of subsection (a) of this section."
