Norwich Now Youth and Democracy Challenge - September 15 - November 2, Thames River Acadmey, Norwich, CT
Celebrating 46 years of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to educate, engage and enroll the youth in the Greater Norwich Area to participate in the Think Hard/Vote Hard Campaign focused on voter registration initiatives, education forums and mobilization efforts in the community. Participation by 100 High School students. Free and open to High School students.
March with the NAACP and One Nation - October 2, 2010, Washington DC WE BELIEVE everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve the American Dream - a secure job, a safe home, and a quality education. ONE NATION seeks to transcend our superficial differences and bring us together in a common quest for equal opportunity and justice for all. We will mobilize tens of thousands of people to march in solidarity at the Nation's Capitol in order to protect our jobs, our education and our economy. Partnerships with healthcare agencies, organizations and families to promote wellness and better health in African-Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities.

Celebration of Kwanza - December 26, 2010 - January 1, 2011, location TBA. Open to public.
Kwanza is based on some very old African holidays. The word kwanza means first in the Swahili language of Africa. The celebration centers around seven principles combining African traditions and African American ideals. It is a time for gathering of families and friends Each day focus will be on one of the seven principles.
